This system is
organized from the central to localities. Presently, the country has one
central department, 61 extension centres in 65 provinces, 470 extension
stations in 615 districts, 3,750 extension workers in 10,000 villages.
Besides, other extension volunteer organizations also are established by
institutes, Farmer Association, Agriculture College, Veteran Association
etc . . .
Some achieved
results of the sector since its establishment
+ Transferring
advanced science technology into production for farmers
+ Guiding farmers
to apply the hybrid rice achieving output from 1000 tons (in 1991) up to
340,000 tons/ha.
+ Guiding farmers
to apply intensive farming methods of hybrid corns. The cultivation ratio
of this hybrid has occupied 65% of total corn acreage in the whole
country. Up to now, Vietnam doesn't have to import corn seeds from foreign
countries basically.
